Have you reached the breaking point with your kitchen? If your space is outdated, too small, or falling apart, then a new kitchen may be in your future. A local family was tired of their aging kitchen and they knew that something needed to be fixed.
“We have been living in this house for 23 years, and the kitchen is the original builder-grade materials when it was built 30 years ago. It was time for the remodel.”
After researching some remodeling companies in the area, the family decided to go with Cabinet Discounters. They found that what we have to offer was what worked best for them.
“We had researched and checked out several places and decided that Cabinet Discounters was the best fit for us.”
The family visited our Gaithersburg showroom to get started on their project. Once inside our store, they sat down and met with designer Tess Moran. The family was delighted with their experience with Tess. She was able to offer suggestions as to what would look best within the kitchen.
“Tess was always a joy and great with ideas and options, even pushing us out of our comfort zone at times.”
In addition to working with Tess, the family was also happy with several other members of the team involved in remodeling their kitchen.
“Working with the entire team of people on our kitchen redo was overall a wonderful experience. The delivery guys were very efficient in bringing in materials and the appliances. The appliance installers were very careful, making sure they didn’t cause any damage to our walls, new structures, etc. We were especially impressed with the main tile guy who worked laboriously in putting up our backsplash.”
Working along with Tess, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Rodera door style. The perimeter cabinets have Maple Lace color, and the island is Maple Cadet. The countertops are Cambria Harrogate quartz. The backsplash tile is Chapter 7 Cubist mosaic tile, and the floor tile is Gravitate 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile.
In their new space, the family has found that cooking and hosting gatherings have become much easier than before and free of hassle.
“We’ve only had the opportunity to use the space for a few months, but we are avid cooks, and use the kitchen and cook in it nearly every day. We’ve hosted 3 or 4 gatherings, and the extra space and layout of the kitchen is great. The work area and traffic flow works well, and we now have a much bigger island that we’ve used to put out platters of food so people can get food quickly. We’re still getting used to having a prep sink, which has been awesome since two or more people can now easily do things in the kitchen that require use of a sink.”
The addition of a second sink given the family much more prep space and has enabled them to have multiple people working in the kitchen at the same time.
“Having more space and a second sink on our island for another person to help prep a meal.”
