Are you tired and frustrated with your small kitchen? Is simply gathering multiple people in your kitchen too much to handle? Have you found it’s nearly impossible to have enough countertop space? Well, you are not alone! A local family found themselves in a similar position after buying their house, and they knew something had to be done about it.
“We had made the decision to remodel the kitchen as soon as we owned the house; the space was small and dark, and there wasn’t any room to have several people in the kitchen at the same time. I had my own baking business and was used to having more space for baking and cooking (and making a mess!), along with storage for equipment. We wanted a more open space that allowed access to the rest of the first floor living spaces when cooking, entertaining, etc.”
Working with their own contractor, they were advised to use Cabinet Discounters in Annapolis for their cabinetry, and they took that advice.
“Our contractor, Tim Ball of Annapolis On The Level suggested Cabinet Discounters. He has been happy working with the company and since we were still living in NJ during the renovation, we wanted to feel comfortable with our construction project having suppliers that worked well together.”
Specifically, they were directed to work with designer Meg O’Neill. They were very pleased with Meg’s expertise and knowledge of kitchen design, and were also impressed with her ability to take their wants and needs and make them reality. Additionally, they were also very happy with the professionalism exhibited by all other members of our team who worked on their project.
“Meg O’Neill was a pleasure to work with. She was very good at listening and turning our concept of a functional and beautiful kitchen into a reality. And this was during Covid pandemic! Delivery was delayed from the normal lead time, however that was due to Covid, etc. When the delivery date was made, it showed up on time (I wasn’t here for the initial delivery), and when I have been here for delivery the men were very nice and professional. The installation was done by Annapolis On the Level and they were very good at identifying any issues with the cabinets and let Meg know (again we were not on site for the installation) if there was anything that needed to be addressed. AOTL was great at tweaking the areas where the old house met the new addition and required adjusting the installation of the cabinets.”
Working along with Meg, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry for their kitchen. The perimeter cabinets are Hampton door style with a custom color on maple wood. The island and buffet cabinetry is done with Heritage door style and Walnut Russet finish.
“The family has found that life in their brand new kitchen is delightful, and they are overjoyed with all the new space they have. We use the expanded space constantly for meal prep, working at the large island that doubles as an eating area for just the two of us and are enjoying the daylight that the open design provides us to from having more windows. The larger design has been wonderful during the holidays when we can entertain and be part of the group while prepping and cooking. The large island is exactly what we had wanted and we love the walnut top (Chesapeake Cabinets who Meg suggested we reach out to for that). When we have smaller groups of friends over, they love the color and detail of the cabinets. In Home Stone supplied the granite for the countertops.”
