Have you reached the point with your kitchen where no matter what you do to it, it’s constantly a source of frustration? Maybe pieces of your kitchen are falling apart, your space looks too old, or maybe it’s no longer functional for your family. If any of these aspects hit home to you, then it may be time to consider a kitchen remodel. A local family had similar issues in their kitchen, and they were ready to do something about it.
“Our kitchen was original to the house which was built in 2000. We had already made minor renovations to it in 2012 when we bought the house (painted the cabinets and changed out the countertops), but it was really starting to show its age and the large peninsula, while nice counter space, felt too big for the space and felt outdated in general. We knew we wanted to remove it and open up the kitchen even if it meant losing some counter space.”
After initially meeting with another contractor to begin the work on their kitchen, the family didn’t feel that their needs were being met. That’s when they saw one of our TV commercials and decided to give us a shot.
“We had originally asked a general contractor recommended by a friend, but we found it difficult to get his attention and we were on our own to pick out everything which overwhelmed us. We decided to call Cabinet Discounters after seeing a commercial.”
Once inside of our Mt. Airy showroom, the family met with designer Dan Ciucci. They sat down with Dan, told him about what they were looking for in their new space, and within their first appointment, Dan already had a plan. The family was overjoyed that in a small amount of time, they already knew what their new kitchen would look like.
“We just loved our experience with everyone at Cabinet Discounters! Dan was so easy to work with, listened to our needs, and designed our kitchen within an hour. I immediately felt relieved that we had made the decision to use Cabinet Discounters. By the time I left my first appointment, I had a kitchen design, cabinets picked out, stone picked out and a schedule.”
Even as some scheduling maneuvering took place throughout their project, the family was happy that we were able to accommodate other workers who were involved with the job.
“Dan and all the folks at Cabinet Discounters also worked around our floor company who refinished our floors during the kitchen reno. It was a bit of schedule magic, but Cabinet Discounters worked with us and was very accommodating.”
In addition to their positive experience with Dan, the family was also happy with everyone else from our team who had a hand in their kitchen remodel.
“Installation by Jeff was also really great! He was so easy going and, again, worked around a lot of our scheduling issues. George also answered all of my emails in a timely manner and anytime I called Cabinet Discounters for assistance, someone answered the phone and directed me quickly. All good things about Cabinet Discounters!”
Working along with Dan, the family selected Homecrest Cabinetry with Sedona Painted Hardwood doors and Alpine Opaque color. The countertops are Cambria Swanbridge quartz.
“We are in love with our new kitchen. We cook in it a few nights a week and I have entertained my entire family of about 12 people for Christmas, a recent birthday for a family member, and dinners with friends.”
With their new kitchen, the family is finding everyday life to be significantly easier than before.
“It just makes me feel good to be in the kitchen! My pantry doubled in size so that has been helpful, and my farmhouse sink has been such a joy to use. I have been able to water all of my plants at one time! I also love the soft-closed cabinets and we love the island. It’s not only pretty, but it provides a better flow through our house. We no longer have to walk around that large peninsula to get to the kitchen in a pinch. I would use CD again and again. I have also recommended CD to many friends. Great job, and thank you!”
